「若為降伏一切天魔外道者，當於跋折羅手。」
As explained in the text the practice of this mudra is designed to ensure the subjugation of all demons of heaven’s extemal paths.
承認吧，我們最大的敵人，是自己
最偉大的戰爭，是內在那場看不見的戰爭
佛是勝者，重要的不是戰勝一切天魔，而是戰勝心魔
當煩惱清淨了、習氣調柔了
當執著變成智慧，當瞋恨變成慈悲
我們也是勝者
We must acknowledge
That our greatest enemy
Is the self.
And that the greatest battle
Is the one hidden within us.
Buddha triumphs
Not because he conquers all enemies of Buddhism
But because he vanquishes the monster within us.
As our troubles subside, we breathe easily.
When obstinancy becomes wisdom
And hate becomes compassion,
We too are triumphant.
【祝福】
自心所變現的魔鬼，是最難纏的魔，它最能在緊要關頭，刺中我們的罩門、踩到我們的痛腳，因為它最了解我們的弱點。
當我們脆弱的時候，貪婪的時候，嗔恨的時候，嫉妒的時候⋯心魔便在心裡坐大，如果放任心裡的惡勢力孳長，終有一天黑暗力量會侵吞心靈的善根，弄到不可收拾，一顆心就會變成煩惱的牢獄。而慈悲和智慧，是降伏心魔最有力的武器。
跋折羅手是種祝福，祝福我們超越心魔，戰勝煩惱，收復我們心靈的自主權；跋折羅手也是一種提醒，與其降伏看不見的天魔，不如降伏自心，魔由心生，心外無魔，調服自心，一切自然轉為善，轉為吉祥。
