「若為果蓏諸穀稼者，當於蒲桃手。」

你心頭那畝田
是荒煙蔓草，還是花果繁茂？
我們都是生命的自耕農
沒有春風秋雨歷練，哪來結實累累豐收？
凡成熟的必低頭，當我們的生命穗豐果熟
怎不微笑低頭？
Is the acre of land within your heart
Deserted and overgrown with weeds?
Or is it lush with fruits and flowers?
We are farmers of our ownlives;
Without the spring wind and autumn rain
how can we harvest the
bountiful fruits of our labors?
When they are ripe with fruits ,
The trees bow their heads in reverence.
When our lives ripen and are fulfilled,
How can we not smile and bow our heads too?

果，在佛教是個美好的象徵，我們說菩薩開悟之後證得「果位」，意思是他的智慧圓滿如果實般成熟，這時，果，是種肯定，是種讚美。
果，也是種提醒，有因必有果，我們現在做什麼，將來就會承受到那個後果。不是有句老話說嗎？「欲知前生事，今生受者是；欲知來生事，今生做者是」，許多人對飄渺的前世來生有無限好奇，其實線索都在我們自己手裡，我們這輩子承受了什麼事，那都源於上輩子所做的；而我們今生正在做的事，也決定了下輩子我們將面對的生命條件。
蒲桃手是種祝福，祈願所有勤於耕種的，都能歡呼收割，都能果實豐美，一如觀世音菩薩手裡的豐美蒲桃。蒲桃手也是種提醒，要敬慎因果啊，現在種什麼因，將來收什麼果，分毫不爽。
