「若為十方諸佛速來授手者，當於數珠手。」
As explained in the text the practice of this mudra is designed to ensure the assistance of the Buddhas of the Ten Directions.
有人問，觀世音菩薩手持念珠，在念什麼？
有人答，念觀世音菩薩，為什麼？
求人不如求己，求人先要求己
要別人挺你，拉你一把
先要自己挺自己，拉自己一把
如果諸佛加持是春雨，自己要先耕好心頭那畝田
如果諸佛加持是陽光，自己要先打開清明的心眼
加持一直都在，重點是，你真的要嗎？
Some people ask, “What does Kuanyin, the Goddess of Mercy,
Chant with the Buddhist rosary beads in her hand?”
Some reply with, “Kuanyin, Goddess of Mercy”.
And why is that?
Because if you are going to count on someone,
You might as well make that someone yourself.
Before asking others for help, ask yourself.
If you want to ask others to give you a supporting hand,
Make sure you have first done that for yourself.
If the persistent chanting of the Buddhas is the spring rain,
We must first ensure that the fertile earth of our hearts is cultivated.
If the persistent chanting of The Buddhas is the warm sunlight,
We must first ensure that the untainted eye of our hearts is open.
The persistent chanting of The Buddhas is always there.
The most important thing though,
Is if you are ready to accept it or not.

對念珠，我們都不陌生，即使不是修行人，近年來大家也習慣在手上戴一串手珠，想把諸佛菩薩的加持戴在手上，以祈求諸事吉祥，長保平安。愛戴念珠，相信諸佛加持可以護佑我們，這是好事，但卻不是佛家的本意。念珠，本來只是一種計數器，也就是修行人做功課時候記錄次數用的工具，無論念佛、持咒、修法，念珠是一種記錄，一種見證。它背後的意義，是修行人的一個「勤」字。
念珠也是一種智慧象徵，藏密的四臂觀音，就是中土的觀世音菩薩，四臂觀音右手就拿著一串水晶念珠，象徵清明的智慧。數珠手，就是藉由千手千眼觀世音菩薩的加持和願力，祈願因為我們的精進，諸佛能趕快來「授手」，拉我們一把。
數珠手也是一種提醒，別只在手上拿念珠，而忘了在心頭也放一串象徵精進的念珠啊，求佛之前先要求己，只有精進的修行人能感通諸佛加持，祈願諸佛拉我們一把，自己要先拉自己一把呀！
