The Dreamers – Liuligongfang

The First Cultural Brand to Feature Han Characters

Liuligongfang’s co-founders Loretta H. Yang and Chang Yi, Best Actress and Best Director Award winners at the Golden Horse Film Festival and Awards, respectively, left the film industry at the height of their careers to pursue the art of liuli. Reaching into the depths of their souls, filled with determination and fear, they struggled with material and technique for three years and burned through $75,000,000 before finding their footing.

Liuli gradually became the artists’ shared creative language.

Opulent and fragile,

they came to see it as the manifestation of life’s impermanence.

Drawing from their time working in movies,

through the pate de verre technique

and the richness of Chinese philosophy,

they revived the once lost art of Chinese liuli

to widespread international acclaim.

With the desire to forge a deeper cultural connection

and to invest in creative personal expression,

they lived and breathed liuli.

They aimed the spotlight on Taiwan

for all the world to see, in the name of liuli art.
